Landcycling is a variant of cycling: pay the listed cost and discard the card from your hand to search your library for a land of the specified type, then shuffle. For example, "Plainscycling" finds a Plains (or any card with the Plains type), while generic "Landcycling" finds any land. It's an activated ability you can use any time you have priority, even on an opponent's turn.
The key nuance: landcycling searches by land type, not by name. So Plainscycling can grab a dual land like Sacred Foundry because it has the Plains type, or any nonbasic with the right type—not just basics. Basic land types matter, not the word "basic."
In Commander, landcycling smooths your mana and fixes colors while turning flooded or dead cards into needed lands. Cards like the cycling lands and Krosan Tusker shine—and remember it triggers "whenever you cycle" effects.
