What it does

Menace means a creature can't be blocked except by two or more creatures. When this creature attacks, the defending player must assign at least two blockers to it, or it goes through unblocked. It's a simple evasion ability that makes chump-blocking harder and pushes damage through. The common mistake: menace requires two or more blockers, not exactly two. A defender can block with three, four, or more creatures if they choose. Also, if a creature can only be blocked by one creature for some reason, menace effectively makes it unblockable. Menace only matters on offense—it does nothing while the creature is blocking or sitting back. In Commander, menace shines on commanders and big threats that carry voltron equipment or deal combat-relevant damage (like commander damage or infect), since opponents must overcommit blockers to stop them.
