Mold Harvest

What it does

Mold Harvest is a triggered ability from Bloomburrow that reads: "Whenever a land enters under your control, if you haven't created a Food this turn, create a Food token." So it rewards you for playing lands while you're not already generating Food, giving you a steady drip of these sacrifice-for-life tokens. The nuance people miss is the "if you haven't created a Food this turn" clause—it's an intervening "if" condition checked twice. You only get one Food per turn from Mold Harvest, and crucially, if you've already made Food earlier in the turn through some other source, this won't trigger at all. So sequencing matters: play your land before making Food elsewhere. In Commander, it shines with extra-land-drop effects, ramp, and fetch lands, fueling Food synergies, lifegain payoffs, or sacrifice engines across a long game.
