Swampcycling is a variant of cycling that lets you pay the cost and discard the card from your hand to search your library for a Swamp card, put it into your hand, then shuffle. It's an activated ability that works only from your hand, turning a dead card into land fixing when you're flooded on spells or short on lands.
The key nuance: swampcycling fetches any card with the Swamp land type—not just cards named "Swamp." That includes dual lands like Overgrown Tomb or other typed lands, giving you fixing, not just basics. Also, the searched land goes to your hand, not the battlefield, so it doesn't trigger landfall directly and you still must play it as your land for the turn.
In Commander, it adds consistency to black-heavy decks, smoothing mana while keeping flexible cards. Opponents can respond to the activation, but they can't counter the spell since cycling isn't casting.
