What it does

"Take the Elevator" isn't an official Magic keyword—it's flavor text from the Unstable or similar Un-set context, or possibly a card name you've encountered. There's no standardized rules ability by this name in either the regular game or the silver-bordered sets I can reliably point to. If you saw this on a card, it's almost certainly a one-off mechanic specific to that card (common in Un-sets), where the rules text on the card itself governs everything. Un-set cards are only legal in casual/un-sanctioned Commander games when all players agree, so check with your table first. To give you an accurate explanation, tell me the exact card name or paste its text. I'd rather not invent rules for an ability I can't verify—misremembering Un-set mechanics is easy, and getting it wrong helps no one.
