What it does

"Throw" isn't a standard Magic keyword—it comes from the Unfinity and other Un-set cards that involve physically tossing components like dice or cards onto the playing surface. These cards measure real-world distance, asking you to throw an object and resolve effects based on where it lands relative to a target permanent, the table edge, or another marker. The biggest misunderstanding is legality: "Throw" cards are silver-bordered or carry the acorn stamp, meaning they're not legal in sanctioned formats including standard Commander unless your playgroup explicitly allows them. Distance is typically measured from a fixed point, and if your toss leaves the table or hits another player, specific cards spell out fail states—read each one carefully. In Commander, these only matter in casual "un" pods. Discuss beforehand, since dexterity-based outcomes feel out of place in most competitive or focused games and can damage or scatter your dice.
