: Draw a card. Activate only if you created a token this turn.
, , Sacrifice this artifact: Create a 10/10 colorless Eldrazi creature token.
Idol of Oblivion is one of the best colorless card-advantage engines in the game, and it slots into any token deck regardless of color. The condition — "created a token this turn" — is trivial in the archetypes that want it, so you're effectively drawing a card every turn for two mana up front. That's premium value with zero color requirements.
Who wants it: token-makers and go-wide decks (Krenko, Adrix and Nev, Jetmir, Ghave), and anything generating Treasures, Clues, Blood, or Servos. Aristocrats decks that constantly produce sac fodder love the steady draw. The 10/10 mode is a nice late-game mana sink when you're flooding, but it's a bonus, not the reason you run it.
Don't play it in decks that don't reliably make tokens — without a token each turn it's a dead rock. It's also slow if you can't make tokens every turn, so prioritize consistency over a one-time token enabler.
