LegalCard DrawEDHREC #203
As an additional cost to cast this spell, discard a card.
Draw two cards.
Why is this card good?
Thrill of Possibility is one of red's best baseline card draw spells, and that's saying something given how starved red is for card advantage. For two mana at instant speed, you cycle a dead card into two fresh ones — effectively filtering while staying card-neutral.
The instant speed matters: you can hold up interaction, cast it on an opponent's end step, or react to board states before committing. That flexibility separates it from sorcery-speed equivalents like Cathartic Reunion.
It shines in spellslinger and storm decks, but truly excels in graveyard/reanimator strategies (think Feldon, Anje, or any deck pitching fatties) where discarding is upside, not a cost. Aristocrats and discard-matters builds also love the symmetry.
Don't play it in decks with no discard fodder or empty hands — paying a card to draw two is rough when you're hellbent or topdecking. It also doesn't generate raw advantage, so dedicated value engines may prefer Wheel effects or repeatable draw instead.
