Toxic 1 (Players dealt combat damage by this creature also get a poison counter.)
Skrelv can't block.
, : Choose a color. Another target creature you control gains toxic 1 and hexproof from that color until end of turn. It can't be blocked by creatures of that color this turn. ( can be paid with either or 2 life.)
Skrelv is a one-mana white commander that protects your best threat and pushes damage through. You usually run him as a cheap commander in a Voltron or mono-white aggro shell, suiting up a single creature with auras/equipment and using Skrelv's activated ability to grant hexproof-from-a-color and evasion so it connects. Alternatively he anchors a poison/toxic plan, granting toxic 1 to your attackers to chip out opponents via infect-style proliferate.
Costs only one mana, so he's reliably available and can repeatedly protect your key creature from targeted removal
Hexproof-from-a-color plus unblockable-by-a-color makes a suited-up threat extremely resilient and almost unstoppable in combat
payment with life means you can protect even when tapped out or color-screwed
Enables a sneaky alternate win through toxic/poison counters and proliferate
He can't block and dies to any removal himself, and the protection only covers one color per activation
Mono-white means weak card draw, ramp, and interaction relative to other colors
Voltron is inherently fragile to board wipes, edicts, and 'destroy all'/bounce effects that he can't stop
Poison plans are slow and grindy without proliferate support, and he only grants toxic 1
A manland with infect that pairs with proliferate to threaten lethal poison alongside Skrelv's toxic creatures.
Lean fully into one plan: for Voltron add efficient protective equipment (Sword of Feast and Famine, Lightning Greaves) and game-ending auras while trimming fragile filler. For poison, load up on proliferate (Karn's Bastion, Evolution Sage), infect threats, and toxic creatures. In both cases, improve mono-white's weak spots with fast ramp (Sol Ring, mana rocks), card advantage like Esper Sentinel and Welcoming Vampire, and board-wipe insurance such as Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention-style effects.
