What it does
Flurry is an ability that triggers whenever you cast your second spell each turn. When you cast that second spell during a turn, the Flurry ability resolves and gives you its bonus—often a token, damage, or card advantage. It's designed to reward playing multiple spells in a single turn.
The most common mistake is thinking Flurry triggers on every spell after the first. It only triggers on the second spell each turn—not the third, fourth, and so on. Each turn it can trigger once per Flurry source. Also note it counts spells you cast on any turn, including opponents' turns, so casting two instants during someone else's turn enables it.
In Commander, Flurry rewards spell-dense decks running cheap instants, sorceries, and cantrips. Because it works on any player's turn, it pairs well with flash and instant-speed interaction, letting you trigger it reactively while still developing your board.
