When this creature enters, you may return target card from your graveyard to your hand.
Eternal Witness is one of green's most reliable staples, and for good reason: a body attached to "regrow any card" is absurdly flexible. It can rebuy a removal spell, a wrath, a ramp piece, or a key combo component — whatever you need most in the moment. That adaptability is why it sits in thousands of decks.
The real payoff comes from recursion and blink synergies. In any deck running Ephemerate, Conjurer's Closet, Restoration Angel, or sacrifice-and-reanimate loops, Witness becomes an engine, repeatedly returning your best spell. It's a backbone of green combo and value decks, and a glue card for Karador, Meren, Muldrotha, and most Simic/Golgari midrange builds.
When to skip it: hyper-aggressive token or go-wide decks that don't care about a single 2/1, and fast combo decks where a 3-mana value creature is too slow. If your graveyard is rarely worth raiding, you're underusing it.
Run it almost anywhere green wants flexibility.
