Why is this card good?
Evolving Wilds is the most basic fixing land in the game, and its ubiquity (#18!) reflects how forgiving Commander mana bases want to be. It fetches any basic onto the battlefield, smoothing colors in two- and three-color decks without costing you life like fetchlands do.
Why it's good: It thins your deck slightly, enables landfall triggers, and shuffles your library—handy after a scry or to reset a bad top-of-deck. The shuffle plus sacrifice also feeds landfall (Lotus Cobra, Tatyova), graveyard (Crucible of Worlds recursion), and "lands hit the battlefield tapped" synergies.
Who wants it: Budget-friendly multicolor decks, landfall/lands-matter strategies, and anything that abuses sacrificing or recurring lands.
When NOT to play it: It enters tapped and the basic comes in tapped too—that's a full turn of tempo loss, which is real in fast or competitive decks. If you can afford fetchlands, dual lands, or only run one or two colors, skip it. Mono-color decks gain almost nothing.
