Why is this card good?
Stormcarved Coast is part of the "slowland" cycle, and it's a solid, unflashy inclusion in any Izzet (UR) deck. The key feature: it enters untapped as long as you already control two other lands. In practice, that means it's tapped on turns 1-2 but untapped basically every turn after — and in a 100-card singleton format where games run long, that early-game tax is rarely meaningful.
It's a fine pick for budget-conscious or mid-tier Izzet decks: spellslinger, artifact, or token brews running commanders like Niv-Mizzet, Krark, or Veyran. It's strictly a mana fixer with no extra utility — no fetchable type, no lifegain, no untapped-from-the-start guarantee.
When NOT to play it: highly competitive decks want fastlands, fetch/shock duals, or original duals that enter untapped immediately and can be fetched. If your land base already runs premium untapped sources or you need turn-1 plays consistently, skip it. Otherwise, it's a reliable, near-painless dual.
