Oketra the True
The Commander
Double strike, indestructible
Oketra can't attack or block unless you control at least three other creatures.
: Create a 1/1 white Warrior creature token with vigilance.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with creatures—especially Warrior tokens via Oketra's activated ability—then leverage that wide board for anthem-fueled beatdown or token-based combos. Oketra herself is a resilient 3/3 double-striking, indestructible attacker once you control three other creatures, but her real value is being a one-card token engine that can grind out any late game.
Strengths
- Indestructible commander that's hard to remove and survives most board wipes
- Built-in mana sink that produces vigilant blockers/attackers every turn, making the deck recur and grindy
- Mono-white consistency: easy mana base, access to the best anthems, tutors, and token payoffs
- Double strike makes Oketra a real threat that pairs well with equipment and buffs
Weaknesses
- Mono-white struggles with card advantage and ramp compared to other colors
- Vulnerable to board wipes that exile or sacrifice rather than destroy (Oketra is safe but your tokens aren't)
- The activated ability is mana-hungry and slow without ramp or cost reduction
- Oketra can't attack or block until you have three other creatures, so she's dead weight on an empty board
Key Cards
- Cathars' Crusade — Every token Oketra and your other creatures make snowballs the whole board into game-ending threats.
- Anointed Procession — Doubles every token you create, turning Oketra's ability into two Warriors per activation.
- Divine Visitation — Transforms each 1/1 Warrior token into a 4/4 flying Angel, instantly upgrading your token engine.
- Smothering Tithe — Mono-white's premier ramp/treasure engine to fuel Oketra's expensive token activations.
- Heliod, Sun-Crowned — Lifegain payoff and another resilient god that pumps your wide board and enables combos.
Upgrade Path
Add more fast ramp and cost reduction (Smothering Tithe, Cloud Key, Herald's Horn) so the token ability isn't your only mana use. Lean into a payoff package—Cathars' Crusade, Divine Visitation, or an aristocrats shell with Skullclamp for card draw—to convert tokens into wins faster. Round out with the best mono-white staples (Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift, Teferi's Protection, Land Tax) to patch white's card advantage and interaction gaps.

Win Conditions

- ▸Aristocrats drain via Blood Artist effects fueled by sacrificing endless tokens
- ▸Commander damage from a buffed, double-striking Oketra carrying equipment
Archetypes
- Tokens — Oketra is a repeatable token factory that pairs with doublers and anthems to go wide.
- Aristocrats — Endless Warrior tokens feed sacrifice outlets like Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat for incremental drain.
- Voltron — Indestructible double strike makes Oketra a low-risk equipment carrier once your board condition is met.
- Go-Wide Aggro — Anthems and overrun effects turn a swarm of vigilant Warriors into lethal swings.
