Sephara, Sky's Blade
The Commander
You may pay and tap four untapped creatures you control with flying rather than pay this spell's mana cost.
Flying, lifelink
Other creatures you control with flying have indestructible. (Damage and effects that say "destroy" don't destroy them.)
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with flying creatures, then drop Sephara (often for just ) to make your whole air force indestructible while gaining life off her lifelink. You win by swinging with a wide, hard-to-kill skies army that ignores board wipes and most removal. Early game ramps and builds the flying token base; mid-game Sephara locks the board and turns alpha strikes into game-enders.
Strengths
- Grants the entire flying team indestructible, surviving most board wipes and combat
- Alternate cost lets you cast a 7-drop for
once you have four flyers
- Mono-white keeps the mana base painless and consistent
- Lifelink on Sephara plus a wide board stabilizes against aggro
Weaknesses
- Heavily commander-dependent; without Sephara out the deck is fragile to wraths
- Indestructible doesn't stop exile, -X/-X, sacrifice, or bounce effects
- Mono-white struggles with card advantage and ramp compared to other colors
- Vulnerable to fliers/blockers and to Cyclonic Rift-style mass bounce
Key Cards
- Akroma's Will — Doubles as a finisher and protection, giving evasive, unblockable, or protected attackers for a lethal alpha strike.
- Smothering Tithe — Mono-white's premier ramp/card engine to fuel a token-heavy flyers shell.
- Heliod, Sun-Crowned — Amplifies Sephara's lifelink into card and life advantage, and enables lifegain payoffs.
- Geist-Honored Monk — Generates a wide flying body and token base to fuel both Sephara's cost and her anthem-like protection.
- Dolmen Gate — Lets your indestructible flyers attack with zero combat risk, since damage to attackers is prevented.
Upgrade Path
Lean into efficient flying token producers and anthems (Bennie Bracks, Intangible Virtue, Cathars' Crusade) plus protection like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver to survive the turns Sephara is off the board. Add mono-white staples Smothering Tithe, Land Tax, and Mangara, the Diplomat for card and mana advantage, and finishers like Craterhoof-style effects (Overwhelming Stampede) or Coat of Arms to close fast. Tutors such as Enlightened Tutor and recursion via Sun Titan/Emeria, the Sky Ruin push consistency higher.

- ▸Anthem-pumped evasive damage (e.g., with Akroma's Will or overruns)
- ▸Grinding out opponents via lifelink while flyers chip away unanswered
Archetypes
- Flyers Tribal/Go-Wide — Sephara rewards building a wide air force by making them all indestructible attackers.
- Tokens — Flying token makers cheaply satisfy her four-creature alternate cost and provide an expendable, protected army.
- Aggro/Voltron-lite — Lifelink plus indestructible team enables resilient alpha strikes backed by anthems and protection spells.
