Channel — , Discard this card: Destroy target artifact, enchantment, or nonbasic land an opponent controls. That player may search their library for a land card with a basic land type, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. This ability costs less to activate for each legendary creature you control.
Boseiju is a free roll for nearly every green deck. It's a land that taps for green mana, so it costs you almost nothing to include — yet it doubles as a flexible piece of interaction you can hold in hand without sacrificing a spell slot. The Channel ability lets you blow up problem artifacts, enchantments, or nonbasic lands at instant speed, which green normally struggles to do reliably.
Why it's so strong: the "downside" of giving your opponent a basic land barely matters in Commander, where ramping one player slightly is irrelevant compared to removing a Smothering Tithe, Winter Orb, or a key nonbasic like Cabal Coffers. In legendary-heavy decks it gets even cheaper.
Who wants it: essentially any green Commander deck — landfall, stax, ramp, midrange, cEDH. It's a staple precisely because it's nigh-free value.
When to skip: only if you're hard-leaning on basics for fetch consistency, or running a colorless/non-green ramp shell where the green pip doesn't fit. Otherwise, just play it.
