Why is this card good?
Rakdos Signet is one of the best two-mana rocks for any Rakdos deck, and a staple for good reason.
The filtering matters more than people think. Unlike a Mind Stone or Worn Powerstone, the Signet doesn't just add mana — it converts a single colorless mana into two colored pips of exactly the colors you want. That makes it excellent for fixing in greedy black-red builds while still ramping you a net +1 mana. Drop it turn two, untap into a four-drop on turn three.
It's nearly automatic in any Rakdos commander deck: aristocrats (Korvold-adjacent, Judith), reanimator, big-mana spellslinger, or anything with a top-heavy curve that wants to accelerate while smoothing color requirements.
When to skip it: ultra-low-curve aggro decks where you'd rather play a creature, or mono-color shells that get nothing from the fixing. In the latter, a Mind Stone or Arcane Signet (which still works) does the ramp job and cantrips later. Otherwise, run it.
