Errant and Giada
The Commander
Flying
You may look at the top card of your library any time.
You may cast spells with flash or flying from the top of your library.
Guide
Gameplan
Cast Errant and Giada early, then generate relentless card advantage by playing flash and flying spells straight off the top of your library, effectively giving you an extra card most turns. You flood the board with evasive Angels and fliers, ambush attackers and combat with flash, and grind the table out before swinging for the win in the air.
Strengths
- Persistent virtual card advantage from casting flying/flash spells off the top library
- Flash on the commander means you can hold up interaction and deploy threats at instant speed
- UW gives access to premium counters, removal, and board protection
- Angel and flying tribal payoffs synergize naturally with the top-of-library engine
Weaknesses
- Commander itself is fragile and a removal magnet that the engine relies on
- Top-card advantage stalls when you draw into non-flying, non-flash sorceries and lands
- Lacks reach in fast combo metas and can be slow to close
- UW has limited ramp, so expensive Angels can come down late
Key Cards
- Giada, Font of Hope — Doubles as a one-mana flier that ramps and counters up your Angels, deepening the tribal plan.
- Aven Mindcensor — A flash flier you can flop off the top while taxing fetches and tutors.
- Restoration Angel — Flash flier that blinks your value creatures and casts naturally off the top of the library.
- Brave the Elements — Cheap flash protection that shields your board and pushes lethal alpha strikes through.
- Sephara, Sky's Blade — Flying lord with built-in protection that anthems your evasive army for the kill.
Upgrade Path
Lean harder into instant-speed value with more flash threats (Vendilion Clique, Brazen Borrower) and protection so the commander rarely gets answered. Add efficient UW ramp and rocks (Arcane Signet, Smothering Tithe) to deploy expensive Angels on curve, and tighten the curve toward fliers so your top-of-library casts almost always hit. For higher power, include flicker engines and finishers like Aetherflux Reservoir or an air-based combo to win before grindy decks stabilize.

Archetypes
- Flyers/Angel Tribal — The commander rewards loading up on flying creatures and casting them from the top of your library.
- Flash Tempo — Flash on the commander and flash spells let you play reactively and hold up interaction.
- Control — UW counters, board wipes, and instant-speed threats let you grind opponents out.
