Galazeth Prismari
The Commander
Flying
When Galazeth Prismari enters, create a Treasure token.
Artifacts you control have ": Add one mana of any color. Spend this mana only to cast an instant or sorcery spell."
Guide
Gameplan
Galazeth turns every artifact you control into a mana-producing engine that fuels a barrage of instants and sorceries. You ramp aggressively with Treasures and mana rocks, then convert that artifact mana into oversized spells, copy effects, and burn to close out games. The deck plays as a spellslinger/artifact-ramp hybrid that snowballs once Galazeth sticks.
Strengths
- Massive mana acceleration by tapping all artifacts for spell mana, enabling huge X-spells
- Fits both artifact ramp and spellslinger shells with strong synergy overlap
- Free Treasure on ETB and recastability as a commander give consistent value
- Izzet has deep instant/sorcery card draw and tutors to chain spells
Weaknesses
- Mana ability only works for instants and sorceries, so it's narrow outside that plan
- Heavy reliance on the commander to power the engine; removal sets you back hard
- No built-in protection or evasion beyond flying
- Two-color Izzet lacks efficient removal for problem permanents and enchantments
Key Cards
- Mind Stone — Cheap rock that taps for spell mana under Galazeth and cantrips when flooded.
- Jeska's Will — Explosive ritual that, with Treasures, dumps a huge spell-casting turn.
- Mana Geyser — Treasures and other artifacts make this generate absurd amounts of spell mana for an X-spell finish.
- Reckless Fireweaver — Pings each opponent every time you make a Treasure or artifact token, a real win path.
- Brass's Bounty — Turns your lands into a flood of Treasures that Galazeth converts into more spells.
- Comet, Stellar Pup — Generates artifact tokens and value that feed the engine and provide a backup threat.
Upgrade Path
Add mana doublers (Mana Reflection, Dictate of Karametra) and rituals to spike explosive spell-casting turns, then include tutors like Gamble and Mystical Tutor to find your payoff. Tighten the curve with efficient rocks (Arcane Signet, Talisman of Creativity) and add protection such as Veil of Summer and counterspell backup so your commander engine survives. For a true win, lean into a compact combo like Reckless Fireweaver plus a Treasure loop or Aetherflux Reservoir storm finish.

- ▸Artifact-token pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Disciple of the Vault draining the table

Archetypes
- Spellslinger — Galazeth's artifact mana is restricted to instants and sorceries, directly rewarding a spell-heavy build.
- Artifacts/Treasure — Every Treasure and mana rock becomes spell ramp, snowballing your mana base.
- Big Mana Combo — Mana-doublers and rituals let you cast game-ending X-spells or storm off.
