Kangee, Sky Warden
The Commander
Flying, vigilance
Whenever Kangee attacks, attacking creatures with flying get +2/+0 until end of turn.
Whenever Kangee blocks, blocking creatures with flying get +0/+2 until end of turn.
Guide
Gameplan
Assemble a wide board of flying creatures, then turn Kangee sideways to pump the whole team for lethal evasive damage. Early turns ramp and develop flyers and anthem effects, then alpha-strike over the top while keeping back blockers thanks to vigilance.
Strengths
- Evasive flying-tribal beatdown that's hard to chump-block
- Vigilance lets Kangee attack and defend in the same turn
- UW gives access to premium board protection and counterspells
- Anthem-style scaling makes even small flyers lethal
Weaknesses
- Mass removal and board wipes reset your fragile tribal board
- The +2/+0 only triggers on attack, so it's purely aggressive
- Reliant on having multiple flyers out to matter — slow to recover
- No card advantage engine built in; can run out of gas
Key Cards
- Favorable Winds — Anthem that buffs every flyer, stacking with Kangee's attack trigger for explosive turns.
- Coastal Piracy — Turns your evasive flyers connecting into a steady stream of cards.
- Akroma's Will — Gives the whole flying team protection and double strike for a surprise one-shot kill.
- Dovescape — Floods the board with flying Bird tokens that Kangee happily pumps.
- Storm Herd — Makes a massive flying army in one card to swing for the win.
- Smothering Tithe — Premier white ramp to power out anthems and protection spells faster.
Upgrade Path
Lean into token doublers and anthem stacking (Anointed Procession, Intangible Virtue, Dictate of Heliod) so each combat is overwhelming, and add protection like Heroic Intervention's white analog Flawless Maneuver and Teferi's Protection to survive wipes. Tighten the curve with ramp (Smothering Tithe, Sol Ring, signets) and card draw (Bident of Thassa, Welcoming Vampire) to avoid running dry, and consider a finisher package with Akroma's Will plus a mass token spell for explosive surprise kills.
