Senu, Keen-Eyed Protector
The Commander
Flying, vigilance
, Exile Senu: You gain 2 life and scry 2.
When a legendary creature you control attacks and isn't blocked, if this card is exiled, put it onto the battlefield attacking.
Guide
Gameplan
Senu is a mono-white aggro/value commander built around attacking with legendary creatures. Early on you tap and exile Senu for life and card filtering, then redeploy her for free as a flying, vigilant attacker whenever a legendary creature connects unblocked. Stack the deck with cheap legends and equipment to apply consistent evasive pressure and grind incremental advantage.
Strengths
- Repeatable free attacker that recurs from exile without paying mana, generating tempo every combat
- Life gain plus scry 2 smooths early draws and stabilizes against aggro
- Cheap two-mana flier that survives most board wipes by being exiled
- Mono-white means dead-simple, color-screw-proof mana and access to white's deep legend pool
Weaknesses
- Mono-white lacks card draw and ramp, leading to mid-game stalling
- Limited interaction outside of white's removal suite, weak against combo and big spells
- Senu's recursion depends on a legendary creature actually connecting unblocked, so blockers and flyers shut it off
- Low ceiling compared to multicolor commanders; struggles to close out high-power tables
Key Cards
- Reki, the History of Kamigawa — Turns every legendary creature you cast into a card, fixing mono-white's biggest weakness of card advantage.
- Skullclamp — Provides the relentless card draw white desperately needs while cheaply equipping your legends.
- Mondrak, Glory Dominus — A legendary attacker that doubles your token output and synergizes with go-wide white strategies.
- Sword of Feast and Famine — Grants evasion and untaps your lands on a connecting legend, ensuring Senu returns and you keep developing.
- Heroic Intervention — Protects your board of legends from wraths and targeted removal, a premium mono-color insurance card.
- Smothering Tithe — One of white's only true ramp engines, fueling your spells and equipment in a color-starved deck.
Upgrade Path
Lean harder into card advantage and ramp to overcome mono-white's limitations: add Welcoming Vampire, Esper Sentinel, and Archivist of Oghma for draw, plus Land Tax and Sword of the Animist for resources. Tighten the curve with efficient legends that want to attack and add protection like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver to safeguard your board, then top it with a closer such as Akroma's Will or a mass-evasion anthem to convert a developed battlefield into a single lethal alpha strike.

Archetypes
- Legends Matter — Senu rewards a critical mass of legendary creatures attacking, pulling them from exile to swing alongside them.
- Voltron — Equipment and auras on an evasive legend trigger Senu's free deployment while pushing lethal commander damage.
- Aggro/Tokens — White's wide creature base and anthems let you flood the board and trigger Senu through chip damage.
- Aristocrats — Cheap legends and tokens enable sacrifice-and-recur loops while Senu adds a resilient body.
