Danitha, New Benalia's Light
The Commander
Vigilance, trample, lifelink
Once during each of your turns, you may cast an Aura or Equipment spell from your graveyard.
Guide
Gameplan
Suit up Danitha with Auras and Equipment to turn her into an evasive, lifelinking beater that closes games fast thanks to vigilance and trample. Her graveyard recursion gives you relentless card advantage, letting you re-cast buffs even after board wipes or removal. You sandbag aggression behind a steady stream of value, attacking while keeping up defense.
Strengths
- Built-in evasion package (vigilance, trample, lifelink) makes even small buffs lethal and keeps you safe on crackback
- Graveyard recursion of Auras/Equipment provides resilience against removal and board wipes
- Cheap three-mana commander that can threaten lethal commander damage very quickly
- Lifelink gain stabilizes against aggro and other Voltron decks
Weaknesses
- Classic Voltron fragility: one piece of unconditional removal can blow out a turn of investment
- Vulnerable to being chump-blocked or hit by Fog effects in multiplayer
- Aura-heavy builds risk catastrophic two-for-ones if Danitha is killed in response
- Limited interaction in GW means you can struggle against combo and stax decks
Key Cards
- Colossus Hammer — Cheap Equipment that gives +10/+10, and Danitha's trample plus evasion enablers turn it into instant lethal.
- Sigarda's Aid — Lets you flash in Auras and attach Equipment for free, protecting Danitha and enabling surprise blocks or alpha strikes.
- Shield of the Realm — Cheap recurring protection Equipment slots perfectly into the recursion engine.
- All That Glitters — Scales hard with your artifacts and enchantments, often adding a massive boost for one mana.
- Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist — A perfect partner-style support piece that moves all your Auras and Equipment around for free each turn.
- Generous Gift — Premium GW removal to clear blockers or problematic permanents before swinging.
Upgrade Path
Add protection to stop Voltron blowouts—Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves, and free-cast tricks like Sigarda's Aid and Flawless Maneuver. Tighten the curve with efficient buffs (All That Glitters, Ancestral Mask, Colossus Hammer) and evasion enablers, and include Ardenn plus tutors like Stoneforge Mystic, Steelshaper's Gift, and Open the Armory to assemble your best suit consistently. Round out with strong GW interaction (Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift) and ramp to deploy and re-suit Danitha repeatedly.
