Felix Five-Boots
The Commander
Menace, ward
If a creature you control dealing combat damage to a player causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
Guide
Gameplan
Felix Five-Boots turns every combat-damage trigger into two, so you build a board of creatures with attack-triggered abilities and connect for explosive, snowballing value. Early turns deploy ramp and a few cheap evasive threats with damage triggers, then Felix lands turn five to double everything from card draw to drains to counters. You grind opponents out with accumulating advantage or assemble a doubled trigger into a lethal or near-lethal swing.
Strengths
- Doubles a huge range of attack/combat-damage triggers for snowballing value
- Menace + ward 2 makes Felix himself hard to block and hard to remove
- BUG gives access to the best card draw, ramp, and removal in the format
- Synergizes with both go-wide tokens and go-tall single threats
Weaknesses
- Engine pieces are weak without Felix or another payoff on board
- Relies on connecting in combat, so blockers and Fog effects slow it down
- Many key creatures are fragile and vulnerable to board wipes
- Can be slow to set up and lacks built-in evasion enablers for the team
Key Cards
- Coastal Piracy — Each creature dealing combat damage draws a card, doubled by Felix for explosive card advantage.
- Bident of Thassa — Draw on combat damage plus a forced-attack effect that synergizes with the doubling engine.
- Ohran Frostfang — Deathtouch plus draw-on-damage that Felix doubles into massive card flow while making attacks lethal.
- Toski, Bearer of Secrets — Unblockable, indestructible, and draws a card per creature dealing damage—doubled into a refill engine.
- Grand Abolisher — Protects your combat step and engine on your turn so your attack triggers resolve safely.
- Rogue's Passage — Pushes a key trigger creature through unblocked to guarantee the doubled value or kill.
Upgrade Path
Add evasion and protection like Aqueous Form, Whispersilk Cloak, and Heroic Intervention so your trigger creatures reliably connect and survive wipes. Layer additional trigger doublers and payoff bombs—Strionic Resonator, Vela the Night-Clad, and Lifeblood Hydra—to push the value ceiling. Tighten the mana with fast rocks (Arcane Signet, fetch-shock manabase) and add tutors like Worldly Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to find your best Felix payoff faster.

Win Conditions
- ▸Doubled card-draw engines bury opponents in advantage, then close with a wide alpha strike
- ▸Doubled drain/life-loss triggers (e.g., Vela, Syr Konrad) directly kill the table
- ▸Voltron a single evasive creature with a deathtouch or extra-trigger payoff for fast kills
- ▸Doubled +1/+1 counter or proliferate triggers grow threats to lethal quickly
Archetypes
- Combat Triggers / Value Aggro — Felix doubles every attack-trigger payoff, turning incremental combat damage into overwhelming card and board advantage.
- Tokens / Go-Wide — Many small creatures each carrying or feeding combat-damage triggers maximize the number of doubled events.
- Aristocrats / Drain — Doubled drain and life-loss triggers on combat damage can grind multiple opponents out simultaneously.
- Spellslinger Control — BUG removal and counters protect a doubled card-draw engine while you assemble inevitability.
