Inga and Esika
The Commander
Creatures you control have vigilance and ": Add one mana of any color. Spend this mana only to cast a creature spell."
Whenever you cast a creature spell, if three or more mana from creatures was spent to cast it, draw a card.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with creatures that all tap for any color, then chain out big creature spells while drawing extra cards whenever you spend three-plus creature mana. You ramp explosively through your board, refilling your hand and snowballing into game-ending threats. Win by going wide, going tall, or assembling a creature-mana-fueled combo.
Strengths
- Turns every creature into a Birds of Paradise that also has vigilance, enabling explosive creature ramp
- Built-in card advantage engine that refills your hand as you dump creatures
- Synergizes with token swarms and mana dorks to generate absurd colored mana
- Vigilance lets you attack and still hold up blockers/mana
Weaknesses
- Mana from creatures can only cast creatures, so it's awkward with noncreature spells
- Heavily reliant on the board state — vulnerable to board wipes that reset your engine
- The card-draw trigger requires three creature mana per spell, which can be hard early
- Commander itself doesn't directly close games, so you need real payoffs
Key Cards
- Cryptolith Rite — Redundant effect that turns all creatures into any-color mana, reinforcing the whole strategy.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Classic go-wide finisher that your creature-mana army easily casts and that ends games.
- Cloudstone Curio — Bounce-and-recast creatures repeatedly to draw cards and generate infinite value with mana dorks.
- Temur Sabertooth — Repeatable creature bounce protects threats and abuses ETBs while triggering Inga's draw.
- Beast Whisperer — Stacks more creature-cast card draw on top of the commander's trigger.
- Avenger of Zendikar — Generates a wide token army that all tap for mana under your commander.
Upgrade Path
Add more mana-dork redundancy (Cryptolith Rite, Earthcraft) and free recursion engines (Cloudstone Curio, Temur Sabertooth) to push toward combo finishes. Tighten the curve with efficient ETB value creatures and a couple of compact infinite combos, then add protection like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection against board wipes. Top-end like Craterhoof Behemoth, Apex Devastator, and Genesis Wave gives consistent ways to convert your mana into wins.
