Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath
The Commander
When Uro enters, sacrifice it unless it escaped.
Whenever Uro enters or attacks, you gain 3 life and draw a card, then you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
Escape—, Exile five other cards from your graveyard. (You may cast this card from your graveyard for its escape cost.)
Guide
Gameplan
Uro is a value engine that ramps, draws, and gains life every time it enters or attacks, fueling a Simic ramp-control plan. Cast it early as a one-shot card-and-land, fill the graveyard, then escape it as a recurring 6/6 that keeps generating advantage. You grind opponents out with superior resources and bury them under huge spells or finishers.
Strengths
- Repeatable card draw, life gain, and land ramp from a single 3-mana commander
- Escape makes it nearly impossible to permanently remove without exile
- Self-sufficient engine that fills graveyard and ramps you ahead of the table
- Lifegain stabilizes against aggro while you set up a controlling endgame
Weaknesses
- Slow to close games on its own; needs dedicated finishers
- Vulnerable to graveyard hate that shuts off escape
- Exiling five cards per escape can strain a thin graveyard
- Two-color identity limits removal and interaction breadth
Key Cards
- Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath — The engine itself—escape it repeatedly for value and a recurring beater.
- Cultivate — Ramps and fills hand with lands so Uro's land-drop trigger always hits.
- Stitcher's Supplier — Mills cards to quickly stock the graveyard for escape fuel.
- Crucible of Worlds — Recurs fetchlands to self-mill and keep escape fuel flowing.
- Tatyova, Benthic Druid — Doubles down on the lands-matter draw and lifegain Uro loves.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and ramp (Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Three Visits) to deploy Uro and finishers ahead of schedule. Include self-mill and recursion (Mesmeric Orb, Crucible of Worlds, fetchlands) to reliably power escape, and tighten the deck with efficient interaction (Swan Song, Cyclonic Rift) plus a compact wincon like Craterhoof Behemoth or Thassa's Oracle combo.

Archetypes

- Lands — Its land-drop trigger and self-mill synergize with landfall and recursion payoffs.
- Self-Mill Value — Filling the graveyard fuels escape and other reanimation or recursion strategies.
- Simic Goodstuff — Provides a low-cost, hard-to-kill value core for a midrange pile.
