Tatyova, Benthic Druid
The Commander
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, you gain 1 life and draw a card.
Guide
Gameplan
Tatyova turns every land drop into a card and a life point, so the deck plays as a value-driven ramp/lands engine that snowballs card advantage until you out-resource the table. Early turns ramp and develop mana, mid-game you chain extra land drops to draw chunks of cards, and late-game you convert that lead into a powerful payoff or a grindy lock. You rarely run out of gas and slowly bury opponents under raw card volume.
Strengths
- Relentless card advantage tied to land drops, which are hard to interact with
- Built-in lifegain buffers against aggro and burn
- Color identity gives access to the best ramp, fixing, and card draw
- Synergizes with the entire lands-matter and ramp ecosystem
- Engine restarts every time Tatyova returns to play
Weaknesses
- Tatyova must be on the battlefield to draw, so she's a removal magnet
- Vulnerable to commander tax if repeatedly killed
- No built-in board protection or fast win without dedicated payoffs
- Can be slow and durdly against fast combo decks
- Wheels/wraths and graveyard hate disrupt the long game
Key Cards
- Exploration — Extra land drops directly translate into extra Tatyova triggers each turn.
- Azusa, Lost but Seeking — Up to two additional land plays per turn multiply card draw and life gain.
- Crucible of Worlds — Replays fetchlands and sacrificed lands every turn for repeatable landfall value.
- Ramunap Excavator — A creature version of Crucible that turns the graveyard into a recurring land engine.
- Scapeshift — Sacrifices many lands to fetch many, drawing a fistful of cards and gaining huge life in one go.
- Cultivate — Cheap ramp that fixes mana and helps hit land drops to keep triggers flowing.
- Tireless Provisioner — Generates treasures off landfall that fuel even more land plays and ramp.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and untap effects (Sol Ring, Mana Drain, Lotus Cobra) plus more extra-land-drop enablers (Burgeoning, Wayward Swordtooth) to multiply triggers. Tighten toward a dedicated combo line—Retreat to Coralhelm + Walking Atlas/Sakura-Tribe Scout for infinite landfall into Lab Maniac/Thassa's Oracle—and include protection like Heroic Intervention or Lightning Greaves to keep Tatyova alive. Finally, upgrade your manabase with fetchlands and Crucible/Excavator effects so every turn fuels the engine.

- ▸Out-valuing the table then deploying a big finisher like Craterhoof Behemoth or a hydra
- ▸Aetherflux Reservoir or similar payoff fueled by massive lifegain
- ▸Drawing out your library and winning with Laboratory Maniac / Thassa's Oracle
Archetypes
- Lands — Tatyova rewards every land entering, making fetch/replay engines pure value.
- Ramp/Value — She converts mana-flooded boards into endless cards and a stabilizing life total.
- Control — Card advantage and lifegain let you play a grindy, reactive long game.
- Combo — Infinite landfall loops with Tatyova draw your library and win outright.
