Gameplan

Norin flickers constantly—every spell cast or attack exiles and returns him—so you build a mono-red engine of ETB and flicker payoffs that grind out incremental damage and value while Norin dodges removal and combat. Each end step he returns, triggering anything that cares about creatures entering, and you snowball that into a board-wide burn finish or token army.

Strengths

  • Nearly impossible to kill—he self-exiles in response to almost everything
  • Triggers flicker/ETB payoffs over and over with no mana investment
  • Cheap one-drop commander leaving lots of mana for engine pieces
  • Excellent at punishing the whole table for casting spells and attacking
