Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with legendary creatures, using Serah's cost reduction to deploy them ahead of curve, then flip her into Crystallized Serah to anthem your legendary army into a lethal swing. You play a midrange go-wide tribal game built entirely around 'legendary matters' synergies, snowballing card advantage and stats until you crash in for the win.
Strengths
- Powerful cost reduction that effectively makes your best legends cheaper every single turn
- Easily flips into a permanent +2/+2 anthem for your whole legendary board
- Access to GW's deep pool of legendary creatures, ramp, and protection
- Cheap three-mana commander that contributes immediately and is hard to interact with profitably
Weaknesses
- Relies on a critical mass of legendary creatures, so a slow draw leaves Serah underpowered
- Board wipes are devastating since your value is concentrated in creatures
- No built-in evasion or trample, so the go-wide plan can be chump-blocked or fogged
- Two-color identity limits access to the strongest interaction and tutors
Key Cards
- Kytheon, Hero of Akros — Cheap legendary beater that benefits hugely from the anthem and adds to your legend count for flipping.
- Sram, Senior Edificer — Draws cards off the equipment and auras you use to protect and pump your legendary squad.
- Heroes' Podium — Anthem plus card advantage engine that scales directly with how many legendary creatures you control.
- Reki, the History of Kamigawa — Turns every legendary spell into a card, keeping your hand full in a tribal legends deck.
- Captain Sisay — Tutors any legendary permanent in your colors to the top of your library each turn for consistency.
- Shalai and Hallar — Provides hexproof-style protection for your other creatures while being another strong legend to anthem.
Upgrade Path
Add more efficient anthems and finishers (Akroma's Will, Overwhelming Stampede) plus evasion enablers so your legends actually connect. Improve consistency with tutors like Captain Sisay and Eladamri's Call, and lean into recursion (Heliod's Intervention, Sun Titan) to recover from board wipes. Trim weak legends for ones with protection or built-in card advantage to keep the engine resilient.

- Midrange Value — GW legends offer staggered ETBs and card advantage that grind out incremental advantage.
