Why is this card good?

Blood Crypt is a premium dual land and a near-auto-include in any Rakdos deck running both black and red mana. The Swamp Mountain typing is the key feature: it fetches with both basic-land tutors (Rampant Growth, Cultivate-style effects only grab basics, but fetchlands like Bloodstained Mire, Arid Mesa, and dual-typed fetches grab it directly) and pairs with cards that care about land types. That fetchability makes it a backbone of mana bases that prioritize consistency and speed. Aristocrats, spellslinger, and aggressive Rakdos lists all want untapped fixing on turn one, and paying 2 life is trivial in a 40-life format—especially when your gameplan often abuses life as a resource anyway. The only real downside is cost. If you're building budget or a casual table where untapped duals don't matter much, a cheaper taplands or Rakdos guildgate is fine. Otherwise, in any two-color black-red identity, you play it without thinking.
