Why is this card good?
The pain that keeps on giving. Caves of Koilos is a premium dual land for any Orzhov (WB) deck, and the reasons are simple: it enters untapped and produces both your colors immediately. In Commander, where you're often casting expensive spells across a long game, the tempo of untapped fixing matters enormously — a tapped dual on turn three can cost you a critical play.
The "pain" downside is almost irrelevant in EDH. You start at 40 life, and you can tap it for colorless when you don't need a specific color. Losing a couple of life over a game is a fine price for consistent, untapped fixing.
Who wants it: Any two-color Orzhov deck — aristocrats (Teysa Karlov), lifegain (Karlov), tokens, stax/control. It's also great in three- or four-color decks that include WB.
When to skip it: Mono-white or mono-black decks gain nothing here (just play basics or untapped utility lands). Otherwise, it's a near-auto-include.
