Guide
Gameplan
Brigid is a GW go-wide token engine and mana battery. Front side spits out Kithkin tokens on entry and on each flip, while the back side taps for one mana per other creature you control, letting you ramp into huge X-spells, overruns, and finishers. You flip back and forth each turn to alternate between making bodies and generating explosive mana.
Strengths
- Cheap 3-mana commander that immediately starts making tokens and mana
- Scales hard with any wide board, turning creatures into ramp
- Flexible color fixing producing both G and W in bulk
- Synergizes with both token payoffs and big mana sinks
Weaknesses
- Board wipes cripple both the token engine and the mana production
- Back side mana requires tapping Brigid, leaving her vulnerable and unable to block
- Needs other creatures already in play to produce meaningful mana
- No evasion or built-in protection; easily removed
Key Cards
- Intangible Virtue — Anthem that pumps every Kithkin token Brigid generates for a faster clock.
- Cathars' Crusade — Each token entering puts counters on your whole board, snowballing go-wide aggression.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Brigid's huge mana output easily casts it to convert a wide board into lethal.
- Doubling Season — Doubles the tokens from every entry and transform trigger.
- Skullclamp — Turns surplus 1/1 Kithkin tokens into a relentless card-draw engine.
- Parallel Lives — More tokens per trigger means more bodies and more back-side mana.
Upgrade Path
Add untap enablers (Thousand-Year Elixir, Sword of the Paruns, Umbral Mantle) to spike Brigid's mana into combo territory, and lean on stronger token doublers and anthems. Improve resilience with protection like Heroic Intervention and recursion to recover from wipes, and tighten the ramp/finisher curve so a single big mana turn ends the game.
