Gladiolus Amicitia
The Commander
When Gladiolus Amicitia enters, search your library for a land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, another target creature you control gets +2/+2 and gains trample until end of turn.
Guide
Gameplan
Ramp into Gladiolus, then turn every land drop into a combat trick that pumps a beater with trample to push huge, often lethal damage. You play a midrange landfall deck that floods the board with extra land drops and uses Gladiolus's repeatable +2/+2 to make one creature lethal in a single swing.
Strengths
- Comes with built-in ramp and land tutoring on cast
- Repeatable, free combat trick every land drop enables explosive damage
- Trample makes chump-blocking nearly useless
- Gruul has excellent land ramp and extra-land-drop payoffs
Weaknesses
- Six mana and the pump only triggers when lands enter, so a dead board state leaves him passive
- Targeted removal on the pumped creature blows out your whole turn
- No card advantage or recursion built in beyond the ETB tutor
- Single-target buffs make it weak against go-wide and sweepers
Key Cards
- Scute Swarm — Each land drop copies it AND triggers Gladiolus, snowballing board and pump count.
- Lotus Cobra — Turns extra lands into mana while every land enter still fires the landfall pump.
- Exploration — Extra land drops mean multiple +2/+2 trample triggers per turn.
- Ancient Greenwarden — Doubles every landfall trigger, so each land gives +4/+4 trample.
- Crucible of Worlds — Lets you replay fetchlands every turn for guaranteed repeatable landfall triggers.
- Rampaging Baloths — Makes a 4/4 trample token on each land drop while you pump it further.
Upgrade Path
Add more extra-land-drop enablers (Exploration, Burgeoning, Azusa, Oracle of Mul Daya) and fetchland/Crucible loops to maximize triggers per turn. Include doublers like Ancient Greenwarden and a hard finisher such as Craterhoof Behemoth or Embercleave, plus protection (Heroic Intervention, Snakeskin Veil) so removal doesn't blow out your pumped attacker.

Win Conditions
- ▸Connecting with a heavily pumped trampler for commander or one-shot damage
- ▸Casting an overrun effect like Craterhoof Behemoth after flooding lands
- ▸Going wide with Scute Swarm/Baloths tokens and pumping a finisher through blockers
Archetypes
- Landfall Aggro — His landfall pump turns extra land drops into repeatable, trample-enabled combat damage.
- Voltron — Stacking multiple land drops in a turn can make a single equipped creature a one-shot threat.
- Big Mana Ramp — The ETB land tutor and Gruul ramp let you reach giant creatures and overrun finishers fast.
