Guide
Gameplan
Kolvori is a mono-green legendary-tribal (superfriends-style) engine: flood the board with legendary creatures to turn Kolvori into a cheap 6/4 vigilance attacker and fuel its card-advantage activation. You ramp early, deploy a parade of legends that each bring value, and grind opponents out with superior card flow before closing via combat or a big finisher. The Ringhart Crest side gives you a mana rock fallback that ramps your legendary spells.
Strengths
- Repeatable card advantage digging six deep for legendary creatures every turn
- Cheap, recurring engine that's hard to fully shut off (front side or back side as a rock)
- Mono-green consistency with strong ramp and access to powerful legendary creatures
- Synergizes with the deep pool of value legends across green
Weaknesses
- Needs three legendary creatures out to be a relevant body, so it's fragile early
- Card draw only finds legendary creatures—dead activations if you whiff or want non-legends
- Mono-green lacks interaction, removal, and counterspells
- Vulnerable to board wipes that reset your legend count and turn off the buff
- No inherent evasion or protection on a value-oriented commander
Key Cards
- Kodama of the East Tree — Chains legendary permanents into play for explosive value off every land or legend drop.
- Yisan, the Wanderer Bard — Tutors a creature each turn and easily fetches more legends to grow Kolvori.
- Reki, the History of Kamigawa — Draws a card every time you cast a legendary spell, doubling your engine in a legend-heavy deck.
- Sisay, Weatherlight Captain — Tutors any legendary permanent directly to the battlefield and grows huge in this shell.
- Cradle of the Accursed — Gaea's Cradle is the payoff land here, tapping for massive mana with a wide legendary board.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and lands like Sol Ring, Gaea's Cradle, and Nykthos to power out a legend density that keeps Kolvori online. Lean into tutors (Sisay, Eladamri's Call, Green Sun's Zenith) and protection (Heroic Intervention, Lightning Greaves) to defend your engine, then cap it with a green finisher such as Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes to convert your wide board into a win.
