Muxus, Goblin Grandee
The Commander
When Muxus enters, reveal the top six cards of your library. Put all Goblin creature cards with mana value 5 or less from among them onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Whenever Muxus attacks, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn for each other Goblin you control.
Guide
Gameplan
Cheat Muxus into play early, dump up to six Goblins onto the battlefield off his ETB, then snowball that board into either a massive alpha strike or a goblin combo kill. You play a focused mono-red Goblin tribal deck that ramps with Goblin rituals and cheats Muxus down ahead of curve to overwhelm the table with bodies and triggers.
Strengths
- Explosive, free value—Muxus can drop 2-4 Goblins (and more triggers) in one swing of an ETB
- Mono-red tribal gives access to deep Goblin synergy, cheap ramp, and consistent recursion
- Cheating Muxus out repeatedly snowballs board presence faster than most can answer
- Multiple combo lines available, letting it pivot between aggro and combo finishes
- Low mana value Goblins are cheap, so the deck floods the board and recovers from sweepers
Weaknesses
- Board wipes are devastating since the whole strategy is going wide
- Mono-red lacks card draw and interaction outside of burn
- Removing Muxus shuts off the engine and color identity gives no way to protect him well
- ETB whiffs if your top six are clogged with noncreature spells or expensive Goblins
- Telegraphs the win and draws removal/sweepers from the whole table
Key Cards
- Goblin Recruiter — Stacks your library so Muxus's reveal hits the best low-cost Goblins or sets up Conspicuous Snoop combos.
- Conspicuous Snoop — Casts Goblins off the top and enables the Kiki/Boggart and Snoop+Recruiter infinite loops.
- Boggart Harbinger — Tutors any Goblin to the top, perfect for setting up Muxus or finding combo pieces.
- Skirk Prospector — Sacrifices the army of Goblins for mana to recast Muxus or fuel game-ending spells.
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker — Copies key Goblins and combos with Zealous Conscripts or Conspicuous Snoop for infinite tokens.
- Krenko, Mob Boss — Doubles your Goblin count each turn, fueling Muxus's attack pump and sacrifice payoffs.
- Goblin Chieftain — Haste and a +1/+1 anthem turn a freshly cheated board into immediate lethal damage.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and ritual ramp (Jeska's Will, Rakdos Signet, Goblin rituals) so you can cheat Muxus out on turn 3-4, then tighten the combo package with Conspicuous Snoop, Kiki-Jiki, and Skirk Prospector for redundant infinite kills. Improve resilience with Goblin Bombardment as a sacrifice outlet and recursion like Goblin Recruiter/Boggart Harbinger to rebuild after wipes, and swap weak filler Goblins for ones that produce immediate value or damage triggers.

Win Conditions
- ▸Alpha strike with a buffed Muxus and a wide Goblin board, often with haste from Goblin Chieftain or Goblin Warchief
- ▸Infinite Goblin tokens via Conspicuous Snoop + Kiki-Jiki effects, then attack or sacrifice for damage
- ▸Skirk Prospector + a token engine into infinite mana to drain or burn the table
- ▸Massed direct damage from Goblin Bombardment or Impact Tremors triggered by a flood of Goblins
Archetypes
- Tribal Aggro — Muxus floods the board with Goblins and his attack trigger turns the swarm into a one-shot threat.
- Combo — Conspicuous Snoop, Kiki-Jiki, Skirk Prospector, and Krenko enable several infinite Goblin/mana/damage loops.
- Token Swarm — Krenko and goblin generators go wide for overrun-style finishes off the Muxus body.
