Satya, Aetherflux Genius
The Commander
Menace, haste
Whenever Satya attacks, create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of up to one other target nontoken creature you control. You get (two energy counters). At the beginning of the next end step, sacrifice that token unless you pay an amount of
equal to its mana value.
Guide
Gameplan
Attack with Satya each turn to clone your best nontoken creature as a tapped attacker, banking ETB triggers and extra damage while generating two energy. Spend that energy to keep the copies permanently, or let them die for sacrifice value. You snowball through repeated ETB/attack triggers and energy payoffs until you overrun the table or assemble a combo.
Strengths
- Built-in haste and menace make Satya hard to block and immediately impactful the turn she lands
- Copying creatures with strong ETBs or attack triggers doubles your best effects every combat
- Generates energy organically, fueling a powerful Jeskai energy subtheme without dedicating extra slots
- Flexible: the copy can be sacrificed for aristocrats value or kept for a growing board
Weaknesses
- Satya must attack and survive to do anything, making her vulnerable to removal and chump-stalling
- Three-color base demands a careful manabase and is sensitive to color screw
- Energy upkeep cost can strand you with disappearing tokens against pillow-fort or fog decks
- Wants a strong nontoken creature on board first, so a clogged or empty board reduces her ceiling
Key Cards
- Combat Celebrant — Copying it gives an extra combat step, letting Satya attack again and clone more creatures for explosive turns.
- Aetherflux Reservoir — Stores energy is different, but it pairs thematically and the lifegain shell with energy decks closes games with its 50-life laser.
- Port Razer — A copy that grants extra combats on player damage chains beautifully into more Satya triggers.
- Sun Titan — Recurs your cheap creatures and energy producers when copied, generating relentless value each swing.
- Fervor — Granting haste to everything ensures freshly copied or cast creatures can immediately swing alongside Satya.
- Aetherworks Marvel — Converts Satya's overflowing energy into free spells, turning combat math into raw card advantage.
Upgrade Path
Tighten the manabase with fast lands, fetches, and Triomes, and add protection like Lightning Greaves and Heroic Intervention so Satya reliably connects. Lean into a focused engine—either extra-combat creatures (Aurelia, Moraug) or high-impact ETB bodies (Inferno Titan, Solemn Simulacrum)—rather than a scattered toolbox. Add ramp and energy payoffs (Aetherworks Marvel, Whirler Virtuoso) so excess energy translates into a hard win instead of just upkeep payments.
