Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch
The Commander
Whenever you cast a Myr spell, create a 1/1 colorless Myr artifact creature token.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, untap each Myr you control.
,
: Put three +1/+1 counters on each Myr you control. Activate only during your turn.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with Myr tokens and ramp via Myr creatures, then untap them all each combat to either swing for lethal or generate huge mana. Urtet's 5-color activated ability turns every Myr into a serious threat with +3/+3 each, while untapping mana Myr enables explosive turns and combo lines.
Strengths
- Five-color identity means access to every removal, ramp, and tutor in the format
- Doubles as a token engine and a tribal anthem in one card
- The untap-all-Myr trigger creates infinite/near-infinite mana loops with mana Myr
- Myr are colorless and cheap, so the deck curves out fast and floods boards quickly
Weaknesses
- Heavily reliant on the commander; board wipes and commander hate gut the strategy
- WUBRG-intensive abilities demand precise five-color mana that can stumble
- Tokens are individually fragile to sweepers and edicts
- Without Urtet untapping Myr, the deck loses much of its mana and combat punch
Key Cards
- Palladium Myr — Untapped each combat by Urtet, it powers out the WUBRG activation and big mana turns.
- Gilded Lotus — Reliable five-color mana to fuel Urtet's expensive untap-and-pump ability.
- Myr Battlesphere — Makes four Myr tokens on entry and turns a wide Myr board into a huge alpha strike.
- Training Grounds — Slashes the cost of Urtet's WUBRG ability, making per-combat pumps trivial.
- Door of Destinies — Stacks counters every Myr cast, snowballing the token army into a lethal force.
- Cabal Coffers — Big colorless ramp that helps fund five-color, mana-hungry activations.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and fixing (Mana Crypt, Chrome Mox, Jeweled Lotus, dual lands, Birds of Paradise) to reliably hit WUBRG early. Lean into combo with Intruder Alarm, Training Grounds, and infinite-mana payoffs like Walking Ballista or Blue Sun's Zenith, and include protection (Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection, Swiftfoot Boots) to shield your commander-dependent board. Replace weak vanilla Myr with mana producers and tutors (Demonic Tutor, Fabricate) to find your engine pieces faster.

Win Conditions
- ▸Alpha strike with Urtet's +3/+3-per-activation on a wide Myr board
- ▸Infinite mana via untapped mana Myr funneled into a Myr token finisher or X-spell
- ▸Myr Battlesphere or overrun effects converting tokens into lethal damage
- ▸Grinding incremental anthem/counter growth into combat dominance
Archetypes
- Tribal Aggro — Myr tokens plus Urtet's pump close games through wide, repeatable combat damage.
- Combo — Untapping mana Myr each turn (and with effects like Intruder Alarm) enables infinite mana and Myr token loops.
- Tokens/Go-Wide — Every Myr spell makes a token, snowballing into an overwhelming board.
- Artifact Ramp — Mana Myr and artifact rocks build toward explosive, mana-rich turns.
