Sliver Legion
The Commander
All Sliver creatures get +1/+1 for each other Sliver on the battlefield.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with Slivers that share keyword abilities, then let Sliver Legion turn your entire team into a snowballing, exponentially growing army. Each Sliver you add buffs every other Sliver, so you ramp into hive lords, layer evasion and protection, and swing for lethal commander damage or wide alpha strikes. You win by going so tall and wide that one combat ends the table.
Strengths
- Five-color identity gives access to every Sliver and the best ramp, removal, and protection in the format
- Buffs scale exponentially — each new Sliver makes your whole board dramatically bigger
- Shared keywords (haste, flying, double strike, indestructible) let the team punch through almost any defense
- Redundant payoffs and tutors make the deck consistent and resilient to single removal
Weaknesses
- Heavily reliant on the battlefield — board wipes are devastating and reset your exponential growth
- Sliver Legion itself is removal-bait and the linchpin of the buff engine
- Vulnerable to creature-hate, edicts, and Pyroclasm-style sweepers before you stabilize
- Five-color manabase can stumble and the deck can be predictable, drawing hate early
Key Cards
- Sliver Legion — The commander's +1/+1-per-Sliver anthem is the core engine that makes the whole army lethal.
- Sliver Overlord — Repeatable tutoring fetches any Sliver and can steal opponents' Slivers, making the deck consistent.
- Sliver Hivelord — Grants indestructible to all your Slivers, making your board immune to most wraths and combat.
- Heart Sliver — Cheap haste-granter lets fresh Slivers attack immediately for surprise lethal alpha strikes.
- Sliver Gravemother — Encore and a second buff lord plus the ability to play Slivers from any graveyard adds explosive recursion.
- The First Sliver — Cascade on every Sliver spell generates massive free value and snowballs the board.
- Cloudshredder Sliver — Flying and haste for the whole team turns a buffed board into immediate evasive damage.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and ramp (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Chromatic Lantern, Cabal Coffers) plus mana-producing Slivers (Manaweft, Gemhide) to power out the hive ahead of schedule. Lean into protection (Sliver Hivelord, Asceticism, Heroic Intervention) and recursion (Patriarch's Bidding) to beat board wipes, and include strong tutors (Sliver Overlord, Worldly Tutor, Vampiric Tutor) to assemble combo or key lords. Tighten the manabase with all five-color duals, fetches, and shocks so your splashy ramp pieces always come online.
