Spider-Man India
The Commander
Web-slinging (You may cast this spell for
if you also return a tapped creature you control to its owner's hand.)
Pavitr's Sevā — Whenever you cast a creature spell, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. It gains flying until end of turn.
Guide
Gameplan
Spider-Man India is a GW counters/aggro commander who turns every creature you cast into a free +1/+1 counter and an evasive flier. You flood the board with cheap, value-laden creatures, snowball counters onto your beaters, and swing through the air for lethal damage. Web-slinging lets you redeploy Spider-Man (or recast him cheaply) to dodge removal and keep the trigger engine online.
Strengths
- Each creature cast grows a creature and grants flying, so you get free evasion and scaling with no extra cards.
- Web-slinging makes him cheap to recast and dodges removal by bouncing a tapped attacker back to hand.
- GW has access to the best counter-doublers, anthem effects, and efficient go-wide token makers.
- Flying is GW's main evasion weakness, and his ability supplies it for the whole team turn after turn.
Weaknesses
- The trigger only fires on creature spells, so token generators and noncreature spells don't pump.
- Each cast pumps only one target, making it slower at true mass go-wide compared to dedicated token decks.
- Relies on the commander staying alive to keep the engine running; repeated removal taxes your tempo.
- Low interaction in GW means you can struggle against combo and hard control.
Key Cards
- Hardened Scales — Doubles every counter from Pavitr's Sevā, accelerating your beaters dramatically.
- Branching Evolution — Doubles counter output so each creature cast adds two counters instead of one.
- The Ozolith — Banks counters when creatures die, then dumps them back to rebuild after a board wipe.
- Cathars' Crusade — Stacks with the commander so every creature spell pumps your whole team plus a flying target.
- Inspiring Call — Protects your counter-laden board from wraths and draws a fistful of cards.
- Conclave Mentor — Adds incremental counters and lifegain whenever you place counters from any source.
Upgrade Path
Lean harder into counter multipliers (Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Doubling Season) and cheap creatures that chain triggers, so each cast does more work. Add green ramp and tutors (Sylvan Library, Worldly Tutor) to find Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes as a one-shot finisher, and include protection like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection against wraths. Trim clunky high-cost creatures for efficient one- and two-drops that keep the Sevā engine firing every turn.

Win Conditions
- ▸Swing with a growing team of flyers buffed by counters for repeated combat damage.
- ▸Pile counters and flying onto a single Voltron threat for lethal commander or trample damage.

Archetypes
- +1/+1 Counters — His passive seeds counters on every creature cast, and GW has the best counter-doubling support.
- Aggro/Go-Wide — Cheap creatures plus repeated flying grants let you race opponents through the air.
- Voltron — Funnel counters onto one evasive threat backed by GW protection for fast commander damage.
- Tokens — Anthems and token payoffs turn your creature-cast value into a wide, evasive board.
