Tishana, Voice of Thunder
The Commander
Tishana's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in your hand.
You have no maximum hand size.
When Tishana enters, draw a card for each creature you control.
Guide
Gameplan
Tishana is a Simic card-advantage engine that rewards a wide board and a fat hand. Deploy creatures early, cast Tishana to refill your grip (drawing one per creature), then leverage that huge hand into overwhelming card advantage, a giant attacker, or a combo/storm finish. You play a creature-heavy midrange/value game and bury opponents in resources.
Strengths
- Massive ETB card draw that snowballs with token and creature decks
- No maximum hand size lets you hoard answers and threats
- Doubles as a giant beater whose size scales with your hand
- Green/blue gives the best ramp and card advantage in the format
- Excellent commander for synergies that reward large hands
Weaknesses
- Seven mana and slow if your board is empty when she enters
- Dies easily to removal since toughness drops as you spend your hand
- Wheels and hand-attack effects punish a hoarded hand
- No built-in evasion or protection for herself
- Color identity lacks unconditional removal and board wipes outside blue/green options
Key Cards
- Cryptolith Rite — Turns your wide creature board into mana to recast Tishana and deploy your refilled hand.
- The Great Henge — Cheap with a big Tishana, it ramps and draws to keep your hand—and her size—enormous.
- Reliquary Tower — Redundant no-maximum-hand-size that protects your card hoard even without Tishana.
- Thassa's Oracle — With a giant hand and library-draining draw, it converts your card advantage into a clean win.
- Finale of Devastation — Tutors creatures and acts as an X-spell overrun finisher off the mana your board generates.
- Eternal Witness — Rebuys Tishana or key spells and pads your creature count for her ETB draw.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and ramp (Sol Ring, Cultivate, Cryptolith Rite) to deploy Tishana ahead of curve, and protection like Heroic Intervention and Lightning Greaves so she survives the turn. Lean into a clean combo line—Thassa's Oracle plus Demonic/Mystic tutors, or an infinite mana outlet—so your huge hand reliably converts into a win rather than just card advantage. Tighten the creature base toward cheap, impactful bodies and ETB value to maximize her draw trigger every cast.

Win Conditions
- ▸Overrun finishers like Craterhoof Behemoth or Finale of Devastation with a wide board
- ▸Tishana herself as a huge unblockable threat with trample/evasion granted
- ▸Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac after drawing out your library
- ▸Grinding opponents out of resources then closing with value creatures
Archetypes
- Tokens / Go-Wide — More creatures means a bigger Tishana draw and a larger body, then alpha strike.
- Value Midrange — Her draw refuels card-advantage engines while green ramps into repeated casts.
- Combo — A massive hand and deep card filtering enable Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac mill-yourself wins.
- Blink / Flicker — Repeatedly flickering Tishana re-triggers her draw for explosive card advantage.
