Sentinel Sarah Lyons
The Commander
Haste
As long as an artifact entered the battlefield under your control this turn, creatures you control get +2/+2.
Battalion — Whenever Sentinel Sarah Lyons and at least two other creatures attack, Sentinel Sarah Lyons deals damage equal to the number of artifacts you control to target player.
Guide
Gameplan
Sentinel Sarah Lyons is a RW go-wide aggro commander that floods the board with creatures and artifacts. Each turn you drop an artifact (or token) to flip on a +2/+2 team anthem, then alpha strike with Battalion to ping a player for damage equal to your artifact count. You win through combat damage backed by a constant stream of cheap artifacts and tokens.
Strengths
- Haste lets her attack and trigger Battalion the turn she lands.
- Anthem is trivially easy to turn on with any artifact, token, or Treasure.
- Battalion gives reach/direct damage that ignores blockers and can finish a player out of nowhere.
- Aristocrats-proof aggression: artifact tokens fuel both the anthem and the Battalion damage simultaneously.
Weaknesses
- Battalion only targets one player, so it's slow against three-opponent tables.
- Heavily reliant on the commander surviving and connecting; spot removal slows you hard.
- Board wipes are devastating to a go-wide artifact/token strategy.
- Anthem only applies on turns an artifact entered, requiring constant resources.
- No built-in card advantage or recursion in the color identity.
Key Cards
- Reckoner Bankbuster — Repeatedly makes Robot tokens that turn on the anthem and add Battalion fodder while drawing cards.
- Smothering Tithe — Spits out Treasures every turn, reliably flipping the anthem and inflating Battalion damage.
- Hangarback Walker — Enters as an artifact and dies into multiple Thopters, all of which boost the anthem and attack count.
- Anointed Procession — Doubles all your tokens, vastly increasing artifact count for Battalion and bodies for the swing.
- Sram, Senior Edificer — Refuels your hand off equipment and artifacts, solving the deck's card-advantage problem.
- Goldnight Commander — Stacks additional pumps as your token-making artifacts enter, snowballing the team.
Upgrade Path
Add fast token-and-Treasure producers (Smothering Tithe, Dockside Extortionist if budget allows) to maximize both the anthem and Battalion count, and pack haste/anthem doublers like Anointed Procession and Hellrider. Protect your board with Teferi's Protection, Boros Charm, and Heroic Intervention against the wipes that ruin go-wide decks. Tighten the curve and add card advantage (Sram, Esper Sentinel, Bennie Bracks) so you never run out of artifacts to keep the anthem online.

Win Conditions
- ▸Wide alpha strike with the +2/+2 anthem active for lethal combat damage.
- ▸Repeated Battalion damage equal to a large artifact count, sniping opponents one at a time.
- ▸Overrun-style finishers (Coat of Arms, Cathars' Crusade) on a flooded board.
Archetypes
- Artifact Aggro — Cheap artifacts each turn flip the anthem and pile up the Battalion damage count.
- Tokens / Go-Wide — Thopters, Servos, and Treasures provide both the artifact triggers and the attackers for Battalion.
- Equipment Voltron-lite — Equipment are artifacts that turn on the anthem while also pumping a key attacker for big swings.
